I am 85 years old

"I am 85 years old and i was able to install the whole home water system without physical help. The technical support i received from KIND was excellent. They were knowledgeable and took their time understanding my questions and always had an answer. They were easy to reach and i was never in a que to wait. I did not do my own plumbing. The installation would have been easier if the illustrative installtion diagrams had dimensions on them."

E1000 system installed for city water

"The parts came in from KIND very quickly. Very simple to see how unit goes together and I also got the light system to kill bacteria and viruses. This was a DIY project. First thing is to determine what the unit will be installed. Draw out how the system will be installed ensuring you have enough wall space and I need to have an electrical outlet near for the light. My house was plumbed with 3/4” pex. The inlets and outlets of all parts are 1”, so I did step down/up from 3/4” to 1”. With my pex install I used Pex clamps and 3/4” pipe. To move from 3/4” to 1” I used PVC connectors with Pex connectors to connect Pex pipe to the unit. The install went great with no leaks afterwards. Since my unit is in the garage and we some winter nights below 32 degrees I wrapped all my pipes. Please note that when I attached the filter to the system I hand tightened the filter parts. This was not enough on a city system. With the hand tool provided I titled till leak stopped. Do not over tighten. System has been in place four weeks and the quality of our city water has improved 100%. Great system with no issues."

The Kind Water System was

"The Kind Water System was installed and every time water was run in the house. I would get a foghorn sound. This went on for several weeks, even though I was in contact with the company. The company would not pay for a plumber to come out and they did not have a representative in the area where I live. The unit was $1900. I paid $200 to have it installed. I paid for a plumber to come out twice for a total of $400, which they did not refund. They did refund my $1900 saying that the unit was faulty. I definitely believe it was a faulty unit because my installer did the same unit installation of the street for me and hers works perfectly."

Sediment/Carbon/UV install

"Very pleased with having these protections in place as we are at the end of the line in an old water system. It is pretty straightforward to install but it is not something for a novice to just jump into without some assistance."

Q&A

Common Questions

Answers before you buy

Will this really replace bottled water for my family?

For most families, the answer is yes. Many customers say they stopped buying bottled water entirely after installing the E-1000UV. The water tastes clean and fresh straight from the tap, which gives people confidence to drink, cook, and fill bottles at home without relying on cases from the store.

How much do families usually spend on bottled water each year?

A typical household spends $600–$1,200 per year on bottled water when you factor in weekly purchases, bulk packs, or delivery services. Many customers choose the E-1000UV because it eliminates that recurring cost, and the hassle that comes with it.

Will the water really taste as good as bottled water?

In many cases, customers say it tastes better.
Reviews frequently mention that once the system is installed, the water has no odor, no chlorine taste, and feels noticeably cleaner, making bottled water unnecessary.

How quickly will I notice a difference?

Most customers notice improvements immediately, especially in taste and smell.
Some benefits, like reduced scale buildup, happen gradually over time as existing mineral deposits are conditioned and flushed out naturally.

How long do the filters last and what maintenance does the system require?

Regular filter changes (every 6-12 months depending on your water quality) and UV lamp/sleeve replacement (once a year) are only main maintenance tasks required for E1000UV. Both filter and lamp changes are very easy and only take a few minutes, you do not need a plumber for these tasks.

Will it improve taste/odor of my water?

Yes, the high-performance carbon media in the E-1000UV is highly effective at reducing chlorine, improving taste, and removing unpleasant odors in your city water.

Is the E-1000UV worth the investment?

Customers consistently say yes, especially when they consider:

  • Money saved on bottled water
  • Fewer plumbing and fixture issues
  • Peace of mind drinking from every tap

For many families, it’s a one-time decision that replaces years of recurring costs and inconvenience.

How much space does it take to install?

It typically requires about 3–4 feet of wall space (no floor space) and should be installed in a location that is accessible for maintenance.

Will it affect my water pressure?

When installed correctly, the E-1000UV is designed to maintain strong water pressure of 15 GPM (gallons per minute) for your home. This is good enough to run up to 5 showers and appliances (such as dishwashers or washers ) at the same time with no noticeable drop in water pressure.

Does it require electricity?

Yes, the UV system requires a standard electrical outlet and uses about the same amount of power as a 40-watt light bulb.

Why do I need UV if my water is from the city?

While most city water is safe, contamination events can happen leading to boil water alerts. UV disinfection acts like insurance, providing extra protection by sterilizing 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms.

Does UV make my water taste different?

No, UV light does not alter the taste, smell, or appearance of your water.

Do I still need filters if I have UV?

Yes. Filters remove particles, chemicals, and chlorine, while UV handles microorganisms. Both work together for complete water protection.

Can it be combined with other filtration systems?

Yes, the E-1000UV can be installed alongside additional treatment systems if needed, such as reverse osmosis or specialty filters.

Can the system be installed outside?

The UV will need to be protected from the weather. Inside installation is recommended.
